August 18th – September 5th is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s annual campaign, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. Designed to curb drunk driving accidents heading into and out of Labor Day Weekend, this campaign sees increased efforts by law enforcement to identify and stop drunk drivers before they injure or kill someone else.

According to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety in Georgia, alcohol-related car accidents accounted for 26% of all fatalities on the road in 2015, the latest year for which statics are available. From 2011 to 2015, our state averaged 301 fatal alcohol-related accidents yearly, accounting for 24% of all car accidents in which a life was lost during that time. If you have lost a loved one to a drunk driver, the car accident lawyers at Chance, Forlines, Carter & King can help. Give us a call at 404-760-7400 to schedule a free consultation and learn more.

Criminal Charges vs. Civil Actions

When a drunk driver seriously injures or kills another person, he or she may face criminal charges. However, regardless of criminal charges or conviction, drunk drivers can be held accountable for financial, emotional, and physical damages suffered by victims and their families.

Our Atlanta drunk driving accident attorneys have significant experience handling wrongful death cases involving alcohol. We can review your claim free of charge to help you understand your rights and your options, and guide you towards the action that will get you the best results.

Criminal charges are irrelevant when it comes to liability in a car accident. If you have been injured by a drunk driver or if an intoxicated driver caused an accident that killed someone you love, we can help you get justice. Please call our office at 404-760-7400 or use the online contact form on this page to schedule a free consultation at our Atlanta office and learn how we can assist you in securing the full compensation you deserve.
