TODAY IS NATIONAL WALKING DAY

The data are clear- exercise of any sort, even just a simple afternoon walk, can make an extraordinary difference in your health and quality of life. It’s for this reason that The American Heart Association has declared today, April 6, National Walking Day.

It’s an excellent occasion to re-commit yourself to some simple exercise. Park a bit further away from the office. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Take the dog and the kids for a walk when you get home tonight.

As the AHA points out, we spend more time than ever sitting in front of screens, and a sedentary lifestyle is a dangerous lifestyle. Walking is a simple way of injecting some activity into your day.

Of course, we know this is sometimes easier sad than done. Atlanta is very much a commuter community, and there are many neighborhoods where it’s difficult to find a safe place to walk. Too many pedestrians are hurt by cars and trucks every year.

That’s why our pedestrian accident lawyers are committed to pursuing compensation for these victims. You have the right to walk in your community and expect that you will be safe doing so. When that right is violated by another person’s negligence, you can and should pursue compensation.
